Day 1 in NYC

Well here we are! We made it to LaGuardia airport about 4:45pm. We went 55 mph down streets that were crammed and I had never been so scared in my life. We then made it to our hotel and got settled and right away went to the station to pick up our week passes so we could ride the subway. After had picked up the passes we walked to Time Square and found a restaurant called Heartland Brewery to eat for dinner with our professors. We were starving at this point so we would eat anything, including a $20.00 buffalo burger. After that Laura and I headed back and called it a night and showered and went to bed because we had to be up at 8 the next morning.
We woke up about 6:30 got ready and headed down for breakfast which was alright but the bacon was no bacon from the farm...if anyone knows me they know I hate bad bacon and now the last three times I have had bacon it's been horrible, so Pauly be ready when I get back. We meet with out tour guide and made our way to the station to our first tour. Our first tour took place at Henri Bendel, a upscale women's store which was super cool and so fun to have a private tour. The building is home to the biggest hair accessory space in America with headbands that were $158.00, I bought two....(just kidding mom) They also had some really sweet historical stories about the space and just everything in general. Look him up and you'll be interested. The store was in the same area as The Trump Towers, St Thomas Church, Louis Vuitton, Armani, Prada, Harry Winston (drool), and soooo many other sweet places. After this we made our way to Fashion Snoops which is a resource for fashion students. They had two dogs in their office which I was way okay with. After a quick presentation with them we went to lunch at the Chelsea Market which was really interesting. I stopped and had a quick sandwich at an Italian market, delicious. We then sat on the nearest seat for awhile before heading off to Armani Exchange, here a merchandiser and a designer talked to us (more the apparel students) about the whole process and we toured the office. It was really cool to see how they would get their inspiration and how they would make smaller scale spaces of what it will look like in window display or in the actual store. We then finished with our tour guide and got to do whatever we wanted. We were near the High Line so we went up there and looked at the city. The High Line is a park that is built on a historic fright line and still had the rails. Super cool. After we found our own way back and are now sitting here relaxing waiting for dinner and deciding where we want to go for that and what we want to do with the remaining of the night. We are very tired of walking and about half way through the day we had already made about 40,000 steps.
So far I have decided that NYC is a place to visit and never stay for a long period of time. I like my polite people, no honking or sirens, and the farm haha.
PS. Hamm hasn't made it into pictures yet because the tours we have to be professional and bringing my stuffed pig probably isn't the best idea but when I go out on my own I will try to get the pig into the city.
